Wrap up your weekday with KDFC Tonight as Rik Malone explores a different theme each evening from 8 – 11.
From What’s New Wednesdays to birthday celebrations, see what Rik has planned this week.

TUESDAY: Pianist Garrick Ohlsson joins Conductor Laureate Herbert Blomstedt and the San Francisco Symphony for Beethoven’s epic “Emperor” Concerto, and you’ll also hear a symphony by Wilhelm Stenhammar that takes it structure from Beethoven but its inspiration from Swedish folk songs.

WEDNESDAY: What’s New Wednesday: new recordings of Mozart’s exotic violin concerto, more Debussy for this 100th anniversary year (he died in 1918), Cecilia and Sol, and a rediscovered violin concerto by an American pioneer.

THURSDAY: KDFC Goes to the Dogs (Jeff T. hosts): It’s the Year of the Dog and Friday is International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day. Make sure your canine companion has one – Mozart always did!

FRIDAY: Six Degrees of Handel on his 333rd birthday!
